Indiana 4WD Association

ABOUT:

Welcome to the Indiana Four Wheel Drive Association website. We are a non-profit organization which actively promotes outdoor recreation for all makes and models of 4WD vehicles through our clubs located in both Indiana and Illinois.

Owning and maintaining a four wheel drive vehicle is an integral part of your life and those of your close friends. It allows you and your family to discover a whole new outdoor world the average person will never see. It provides the ultimate adventure and brings you closer to nature. This may be through organized events involving camping/wheeling trips to weekend swap meets and competition events hosted by various clubs within the Association.

As you browse this new site, you will see a few changes have been made, as well as having our ever popular discussion forum available to our registered users. We hope these improvements will help to increase 4-wheel-drive (4WD) recreation, responsible land usage, conservation, and education within Indiana and Illinois. One of the ways this can be achieved is through the various clubs and individuals that support this great sport of ours- the sport of responsible off-highway recreation.

Feel free to stop by and see what is going on. Many events are open to all and we encourage you to come, meet, share and participate in our great sport. We hope you plan on attending an Indiana Four Wheel Drive Association event in the near future. We will be glad you did.

Formed in 1980, the Indiana Four Wheel Drive Association (IFWDA) acts on the common concern for motorized recreation while practicing stewardship of our natural resources. IFWDA, through its association with other state and national organizations, works to promote and act on issues affecting four wheel drive recreation.

Trail Cleanups occur even in bad weather.

IFWDA coordinates with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) on various planning boards. This includes participation on the Indiana Trails Advisory Board, which sets the direction for trail use on all IDNR properties. Through this partnership with IDNR it is hoped that some public lands will be opened to four wheel drive recreation. Volunteers from member clubs are always eager to help with conservation projects.
